Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition

Since X-Opto stores all information in a Microsoft SQL Server database you need access to server with the database engine. If you do not have access to SQL Server or do not have administrator authority on it you can download and install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. The Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition is a free SQL Server and works perfect with X-Opto. Installing SQL Express creates a standalone instance of SQL Server in which you install the X-Opto database. Before the installation of SQL Express you may need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.
We also recommend downloading and installing the SQL Server Management Studio Express. This is a free administration tool which allows you to e.g. backup your database, administrate users, etc.

When SQL express installation is finished you can start the X-Opto installation.

Save the downloaded file on disc. Execute it and follow the install instructions. In the Installation_walkthrough.pdf a section describes this part.
NOTE that the password needed for this installation is sent to the e-mail address you specify below.

We recommend you to read the pdf document 'Getting started' which is installed to your installation directory by the installation procedure. This will give you a "flying" start with X-Opto.

The demo version is a fully functional version of X-Opto valid for 30 days after installation.
